Crosby Cook, P.Eng, B.Sc.
President & CEO
Crosby is a graduate engineer from the University of Calgary and has worked for the last 9 years as a consulting engineer for a variety of oil and gas companies providing services that have ranged from drilling & completions, to operations and production, to project economics and corporate evaluations.
Crosby has been involved with a wide variety of oil and gas projects, both exploratory and development, throughout the WCSB as well has gained extensive experience in Nova Scotia drilling conventional targets as well as salt cavern gas storage wells.
Crosby is founding member of CG Engineering Ltd, a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Engineers Nova Scotia and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Previous to the Oil and Gas Industry, Crosby coordinated a number of large scale construction projects with a large Calgary based EPC company.
Steve Laidlaw, P.Eng, B.Sc
Director & VP Operations
Steve is a graduate Mechanical Engineer from the University of Calgary. He started his career with Detechtion Technologies where he specialized in natural gas compressor optimization and maintenance/fleet management. This role consisted of managing a fleet of over 500 compressors for 10-12 producer in North America and Australia.
Steve has been with CG Engineering for 5 years consulting to several E & P companies handling their drilling, completions, facilities, safety and regulatory, as well as production and daily operations. Typically providing a turnkey solution from drilling to production.
During this time, Steve has provided engineering and supervision for numerous projects from tie-ins and workovers, to large multistage horizontal completions. As well, he has worked with a number of water disposal companies providing regulatory, licencing, drilling and completions engineering services.
Steve is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Shawn Cody, P.Eng, B.Sc.
Shawn is a graduate petroleum engineer from the University of Wyoming and also holds a diploma from SAIT Polytechnic in petroleum technology.
He started his career working as a field engineer in unconventional drilling (under-balanced, managed pressure and air drilling), and prior to that had experience with both field and plant operating in sour gas facilities.
Since starting with CG in 2014, Shawn has worked on a variety of projects from abandonments and well site decommissioning to drilling and completions of storage and disposal wells throughout western Canada.
He has provided field supervision for completions and drilling operations in various locations in Alberta and Nova Scotia.
Shawn is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Greg Neufeld, P.Eng, B.Sc.
Petroleum Engineering Graduate of University of Alaska-Fairbanks and member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Greg has worked his entire career in the oil and gas industry including work on drilling rigs prior to and during attending university.
Greg’s professional career has evolved through the working ranks in most disciplines of the petroleum industry. Since 2001 Greg has been involved in the ownership and management of several private oil & gas exploration and production companies.
Greg’s experience with CG Engineering Ltd has included professional petroleum engineering service in Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia and internationally in Russia, Norway, Arkansas and Wyoming.
Allan Tainsh, P.Eng, B.Sc.
Operations Engineer / Field Supervisor
Allan is a graduate petroleum engineer from the University of Wyoming and holds a diploma from SAIT Polytechnic in petroleum technology.
Allan has worked for the past 3 years with CG Engineering providing several oil and gas companies with drilling and completions engineering, production and operations and has recently been focused on field supervision on a variety of projects including SAGD drilling and completions, water disposal wells and handling facilities as well as production wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
He is a current member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Prior to joining CG, Allan gained valuable field experience operating for Pengrowth Energy Corp. and field maintenance with JBK Oilfield Ltd.
Brayden Nysten, C.E.T., E.I.T.
Operations Engineer / Field Supervisor
Brayden is a graduate from SAIT Polytechnic and Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He holds a diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.
Brayden has been with CG Engineering since the fall of 2011. During his tenure at CG Engineering Brayden has provided wellsite supervision and engineering support to a variety Canadian E & P companies.
His experiences include SAGD polymer dilation treatments, drilling and completion of water injection/disposal, multi stage horizontal fracture operations, well bore abandonments, cased and open hole tool supervision.
Brayden is a current member Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Prior to joining CG, Brayden worked for Encana Natural Gas in pipeline integrity.
